UIDAI permits those who have Aadhaar cardsto change their address with no need for documents. Aadhaar cardholders can change their address if they do not have ID proof.
New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily halted a vital facility that allows you to change your Aadhaar card's address, without proof of address.
UIDAI allows the users of Aadhaar cards to change their address with no need for any paperwork. Aadhaar card holders can update their address once they have consented to the verification of the address verifier. A verifier of address could be a relative, friend or landlord who permits the Aadhaar card holder to use their address as proof.
UIDAI has now halted this facility. UIDAI addressed an Aadhaar Card owner by tweeting that it is no longer possible to update the address on the Aadhaar Card via Address Validation Letter is no longer available. UIDAI has asked for the Aadhaar Issuers to inform users that they have the option to update their address using a accepted PoA document.
Dear Residents Dear Resident: The addresses Validation Letter service has been removed until the end of time. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
